National Museum Day Celebration

National Museum Day Celebration

When: Sat 26 Sep 2015 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm
Where: Catalina Island Museum #1 Casino Way, Casino Building
Admission: Free

American museums enjoy approximately 850 million visits each year. That number surpasses the total attendance for all major league sporting events and theme parks combined!

Museums tell important stories by collecting, preserving, researching and interpreting objects, living specimens and historical records. According to a study by Indiana University, museums are considered a more reliable source of historical information than books, teachers or even personal accounts by relatives.

National Museum Day honors America`s institutions dedicated to art, culture and history. The Catalina Island Museum annually celebrates this day by offering free admission - one of only 2 days each year in which admission is free of charge. All museum members, island residents and visitors are invited.
